Martin Rodriguez Jr
2026 Summer FellowMartin Rodriguez Jr. is an architectural designer, researcher, and educator working across architecture, digital technology, and cultural production. His practice explores how aesthetics, publicness, and digital media can shape more playful and inclusive forms of spatial experience, while also opening architecture to questions of identity, performance, and cultural critique. Most recently, he completed a research residency at the Taubman College Visualization Lab at the University of Michigan and teaches at Lawrence Technological University’s College of Architecture and Design.
Rodriguez’s thesis, Digital Primitivism, received awards in Representation/New Mediums and History, Theory & Framing, alongside the Taubman College Distinction Award. In 2025, he was named a Metropolis Future100 honoree and featured in Metropolis Magazine. His experience spans commercial architecture, interior design, and experimental installations, with collaborations including T+E+A+M, EXTENTS, Cadaster, and PDR. He holds a BS in Interior Architecture from the University of Houston and an MArch from the University of Michigan.
