Sherry Aine Te

2025 Summer Fellow

Hailing from the Philippines, Sherry Aine Te is an architectural and urban designer/planner, a recent dual-degree graduate of Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Urban Planning at Columbia University GSAPP. Sherry grounds her practice in public-interest design, in pursuit of synthesizing architecture and urban planning as critical tools for civic engagement. Her time at the IPA is dedicated to her passion for empowering equitable housing in New York City, through exploring the possibilities of accessory dwelling units, amidst the City of Yes. She plans to continue her collaborations with community development corporations and advancing innovative typologies of affordable housing, in which she started alongside her master’s thesis in urban planning. During her time in graduate school, Sherry has worked in MVRDV, OMA, and CannonDesign in design (both architecture and urbanism), research, and sustainability roles. Sherry is an active contributor to the AIANY community, where she has written for Oculus and has participated and was awarded Honorable Mention for the Recipe for a Room competition in 2023.
