Chong Gu

2025 Summer Fellow

Chong Gu (b.1995, Zhejiang China, they/he/she) works with migrants, plastics, regulations, and texts. Their transdisciplinary process frames diasporic domesticity and internalized trauma. Tracing social, spatial and material constructs of our urbanity, Chong’s work wrestles between axioms and senses, molding rooms for incremental resistance shared amongst heterogeneous communities. With Audrey Tseng de Melo Fischer, Chong orchestrates Rehearsing, a collaborative relationship dedicated to framing otherness and narrating indigeneity. They currently teaches architecture at Syracuse University.
