Governors Island, NY, November 9, 2024 - The Institute for Public Architecture (IPA) marks the culmination of the 2024 Fall Independent Project Residency with its final Open [Block] House exhibition and program, ASSEMBLY, at the historic IPA Block House on November 9th 2024.
The 2024 Fall Fellows will present their current research and installations in a group show situated within Building 9 at Nolan Park, the 185-year old structure that has served as their home during the 11-week residency program. ASSEMBLY will feature performances, talks, activations, and installations by Huirong Ye, Bruna Canepa, Lesia Topolnyk, Noah Gotlib, Maria Luiza de Barros, and Wil Natzel addressing critical topics in contemporary design culture: Art, Architecture, Geopolitics, Urbanism, Black Studies, Sound Studies, Curation, and Storytelling.
ASSEMBLY will open on Saturday November 9th to the public from 12-4pm, with lectures and performances from 2-4pm.
