Siobhan Hussey
2024 Spring Fellow
Throughout her emergence as a young professional in the field of landscape architecture, Siobhan Hussey has always been enamored with the concept of Genius Loci, our connection to the land and the spirit of place. As a landscape architect with over 8 years of experience based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she has worked on various projects throughout the Bay Area, including children day care centers and public play spaces to healing gardens at senior living communities, with connecting people to nature as a common theme throughout her work. She advocates for communities and the natural world to design more inclusive spaces, for both the visitor and the beings who reside there, with intentional observation and an empathetic perspective being key aspects of her design approach.
Siobhan has been featured in Forbes for her input on the Wellness Benefits of Grounding and referenced Genius Loci and utilizing meditation as a grounding practice. She is also an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, served as past-president for the Northern California Chapter, and holds a B.S. from the University of California, Davis.
