12th Annual Fall Fête
Friends House Party:
IN THE GARDEN
Saturday September 27, 2025
On Saturday September 27th Bridge Street Sound arrived at the Block House with one of their prolific custom soundsystems. Based in Brooklyn and led by Booker Mitchell and Julien Andrea, Bridge Street Sound has traveled around the globe, creating immersive sound experiences centered around innovative sound systems and carefully curated DJ lineups. This year they joined us at the Block House for our annual Fall Fete and helped us kick it off in style.
This year’s Friends House Party: IN THE GARDEN was a celebration of public space through sound and spatial activation. Throughout the evening Manu, Bereket, Sean Lyles brought the energy from a modular DJ booth designed by Xavi Aguirre. The modular system created a large-scale spatial backdrop for an amazing projection program by the Film-Makers’ Cooperative. Curated by Matt McKinzie, the 10-film line-up showcased archival films centered on urban gardens and farms- an explosion of lively imagery filled with plant life and joy in direct conversation to IPA 2025 Fellow, Chong Gu’s mobile garden carts curated with Zacarias Gonzalez that featured edible plants from the Earth Matter farm on Governors Island.
The night wrapped with an amazing closing set by DJ Ella Hu$$le under the stars (and rain) as the Island gave us one of its atmospheric send offs!
