Renae Reynolds

Renae Reynolds is the Executive Director of Tri-State Transportation Campaign, where she brings a bold vision and relentless advocacy to the fight for a more equitable, sustainable, and people-centered transportation network. She views transportation as a lever for systemic change, more than infrastructure, it’s a foundation for opportunity that shapes who can move freely and access not just what they need, but what they deserve.

Before joining TSTC, Renae led transformative work at the New York City Environmental Justice Alliance, where she launched ElectrifyNY, a powerful statewide coalition demanding a just transition to electric vehicles to combat pollution caused by diesel emissions. Under her leadership, the MTA committed to an all-electric bus fleet by 2040, and NYC passed the nation’s first congestion pricing program.

Renae’s roots in community resilience run deep. She previously worked with the U.S. Forest Service on post–Superstorm Sandy recovery in the Rockaways and led youth-centered environmental programs at the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance. She holds a Master’s in Theories of Urban Practice from Parsons School of Design.

Named to City & State’s Transportation Power 100, Renae doesn’t shy away from challenging power, taking on governors, rallying coalitions, and mobilizing to build a cleaner, more connected future for the region.
