Maria Fernanda Pulido-Velosa

Maria Fernanda is an educator, artist and environmental justice organizer based at El Puente, a community-based organization in the Southside of Williamsburg. Her work in the past year has focused on organizing the BQE Environmental Justice Coalition and working with youth to co-create visions and possibilities for restoring caring relationships with public land and with each other in the city. She was born and raised in the Andes mountains of Colombia and is rooted in her connection with land and her grandparents as land caregivers. It is that love for the wellbeing of land, families and communities that drives her work with the BQE EJ Coalition and with children and youth in NYC.
