Interim Executive Director
Janet Fink is a Principal and Partner at . A native of Northern California, Ms. Fink holds a Bachelor of Art in Architecture from UC Berkeley, and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. As a post-Graduate Kinne fellow, Ms. Fink travelled to Algeria and Morocco to study mid-century modern urban housing projects. Ms. Fink is an adjunct associate professor at the New York Institute of Technology, where she has taught at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate programs. Ms. Fink is a licensed architect in the State of New York, a member of the American Institute of Architects and a LEED accredited professional.
Janet Fink is the Interim Executive Director of the IPA. Ms. Fink led IPA’s impactful 2020 and 2022 BQE design Fellowships and coordinated “BQE 2053: Towards a Decarbonized Sustainable Multi-Modal Transportation Network”, a full day Symposium with four panel discussions including over thirty guest speakers and elected officials, held in May 2023 on Governors Island. Ms. Fink is a practicing architect and experienced educator. Her firm,Fink and Platt Architects LLC, creates timeless spaces for historic places. As Adjunct Associate Professor at the New York Institute of Technology, she teaches urban design studios that address issues of growth, ecology, transportation, water, energy, and waste in NYC. She holds a Bachelor of Art in Architecture from UC Berkeley, and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP. Ms. Fink is a licensed architect in the State of New York, a member of the American Institute of Architects and a LEED accredited professional.
