To mark the Summer Solstice, we embarked on a tour hour tour of New York Harbor aboard The Manhattan. An AIA expert guide and special guests discussed how to balance the restoration of the Hudson-Raritan Estuary with the infrastructure demands of the second largest container port in the USA, highlighting interdisciplinary projects that address climate change adaptation and resilience along the Manhattan and Brooklyn waterfronts, and explored sustainable alternatives to the divisive and polluting Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Passed hors d'oeuvres and drinks, featuring an IPA signature cocktail, were served.
