Julie Chou


2020 Fall Fellow
Julie Chou, AIA, is a registered architect with over ten years of professional experience. She is a project architect, manager, and senior associate at Magnusson Architecture and Planning where she manages a variety of mixed-use affordable, supportive, and transitional housing projects that help to address the needs of local communities. She advocates for the homeless and marginalized through her position on the Community Board, work on the Conscious Shelter Design Guidelines, and research booklet The Need for Public Bathrooms, which was awarded the William H. Whyte Award from the American Planning Association NY Metro Chapter, as part of the 2018 Shelter for All Forefront fellowship at the Urban Design Forum. Julie holds a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and a BArch from the Cooper Union.
